Who is Medical Air Services?
Medical Air Services Trinidad is an international association dedicated to providing life saving emergency assistance from home, while traveling on or off the job. By recognizing the need that when traveling, life threatening events may happen, when these situations arise, our primary objective is to seek the very best medical help for our members.
What do Members Services Include?
Emergency Air Transportation Should a member suffer a serious illness or injury resulting in hospitalization and if the member is in need of specialized treatment not available locally then Medical Air Services Trinidad (MASA) shall fly him by fixed wing aircraft to the nearest appropriate medical facility capable of providing such specialized treatemtn when the medial facility is more than 100 air miles from the point of departure.
Commercial Air Transportation Should a member's physician recommend off island medical treatment that requires hospitalization, MASA will pay the cost of member's round trip commercial airfare.
Ground Ambulance Transportation The association hereby agrees to provide ground ambulance transportation for a member to and from a hospital when emergency air transportation is provided.
Organ Retrieval Should a member require heart, heart/lung, liver, kidney, lung, or pancreas transplant, MASA will transport the organ.
Organ Recipient Transportation Should time or medical necessity dictate, MASA will fly the organ recipient candidate.
Recuperation / Repatriation Should the patient and treating physician determine that recuperation near home is feasible, air ambulance trasportation will be provided.
Return Transportation Included are the arrangements and air transportation for the member's return home after hospitalization.
Escort Transportation Space permitting, MASA International will arrange for the member's spouse, family member or companion to accompany the MASA member on an air ambulance.
Non - Injury Transportation A family member may be selected and flown round-trip via common carrier to the location where the member is hospitiatlized for more than seven days.
Minor Children Return A parent's medical emergency could leave minor children stranded. MASA International will provide air transportation back home. When necessary, an attendent will ensure their safe return home.
Mortal Remains MASA will provide air transportation for the return of the member's remains whether due to accident or illness.
Vehicle Return Privately owned or rented cars, vans, or rental vehicles left unattended as a result of the medical emergency will be returned to the member's residence or rental company.
Travel Expense If emergency air transportation services are used, MASA International will reimburse an accompnaying family members travel expenses(Hotel, meals and Public Transportation) up to $300 USD
